Round Updates: I'm a bad person and should have done this last round.
Round 1 Injuries: Noel used one of his knives to cut across the top of Syra's left shoulder blade. As a result, he has a small bandage (picture a big bandaid) on his body on that shoulder blade. The cut ended up being shallow because of Syra's long fur and is nearly healed by now.
Name: Syra [pronounced SIGHruh] Full Name: Syradeus Shalan [pronounced sighRAYdeeuss SHAHlahnn] Age: mid 40s Gender: male Species: Streaked River Lyumine* (large intelligent cat thing) Height: about 4 feet at the shoulder quad, about 8 feet total anthro Weight: physical quad weighs about 450 lbs, weight of e.ghost forms undetermined: assume same Length: about 10 feet nose to tail tip. tail makes up about half of that. History: Syra is a not from this world. Lol. But really. He’s not from the world of Aleria, he’s from the planet Terre in the world Ykaru. On Terre, he was a jack of all trades science researcher and explorer for IA (acronym untranslatable), a planet-wide science research organization. Syradeus was part of a team of world-skippers, whose job was to explore other worlds/dimensions. Something went wrong on his team’s last skip and he was separated from them and ended up in the wrong world. He’s been living in Aleria for six years (Aleria time) and has been working as a wildlife researcher. He uses all his spare money on parts to build an intricate machine that will allow him to return home, but the parts are expensive and it seems unlikely he will ever be able to afford finishing it with his current job.
[June 21 Clarification Editis long: It is standard for world-skippers to keep their origins secret, even when encountered with others that are familiar with the concept. This is because they do not want to affect the development of the world they are visiting, and they don’t want to draw too much attention. Syra is very used to this standard and is unlikely to give out much information about his home world, and by very used to I mean he wouldn’t even tell you by accident. He would more likely just refer to his home planet as being very far away, and not give too many details about how he got to Aleria.]
Abilities/Skills: +Syra can “become” an energy ghost or e.ghost because of a bunch of cool technology. Basically that means his mind can exit his physical body and move around in a separate body made of tons of energy that he gets out of a really powerful battery. +Syra needs several minutes of unbroken concentration and one of his batteries to be within ten feet of his physical body to go active. [Clarification Edit Mar 22: Note that this distance limit only applies to while he is going active, not for when he is fully active. It's just for the transition, not for when he is already active.] +Syra can take two different forms as an energy ghost: quadruped (quad.e.ghost) and anthropomorphic (an.e.ghost). Only his energy ghost can become anthro: his physical body is quad only. +As an e.ghost, he can consciously make his body incorporeal to conserve energy, but this means he won’t be able to interact with physical objects, so most of the time he stays physical. +In his physical body and quad.e.ghost form, he is surprisingly dexterous with his front paws and can use them like hands, though clumsily.
Strengths: +Observant, intelligent, and thinks fast on his feet, especially in unusual settings. +As an e.ghost, he’s very fast and agile and can swim, climb, and can carry anything weighing 450 lbs or less. +He can shift forms really quickly if necessary. +Long range fighting relies on his dart gun. He can use it pretty well in any form, e.ghost or physical. He carries has tranquilizer darts and hunting darts, though he prefers not to use the latter. +He was trained in self-defense and can hold his own in a close-range fight without weapons. He also dealt with a variety of wild animals on a regular basis so he’s used to being attacked by all sizes of opponents and doesn’t underestimate anyone.
Weaknesses: +Syra’s physical body is crippled; the muscles in his legs didn’t develop properly when he was little. He can’t run or swim for long, can’t really climb or jump at all, and is lucky he can walk well. +Absolute maximum time he can stay active while carrying his body around is six hours. He has a set amount of energy he can use and once that’s up he has to go inactive. The amount of time he has decreases as the energy is used up for things like “healing” itself. Once his energy is used up, he can’t go active again without at least six hours of extra sleep. +The e.ghost forms resist some damage, but a force that would injure a regular physical body causes part of the e.ghost to flicker and re-form. Cool, but that uses up energy. If you treat him like a normal physical opponent and hit him enough times, that it uses up all his energy and forces him to go inactive. +Syra can’t move his physical body while he’s active as an e.ghost. He can feel what happens to his body, though: if his body is hurt he can feel that injury, and too much pain would make him lose his focus and go inactive. +Switching e.ghost forms uses up energy and decreases his active time by about an hour. To switch forms he must make his form temporarily incorporeal, so he would drop stuff.
Personality: +very calm and patient. by the time he starts sounding annoyed, most people would have been shouting for the last five minutes. +optimist; determined to work hard and succeed against all odds. +thinks fighting, even just a verbal argument, is a waste of time: whenever possible, he prefers talking things out because it's just more efficient than fighting. +reliable and responsible. +focused and serious while he’s working, but when he's relaxed he'll make casual jokes and is friendly to almost anyone. +notices details but is really a big-picture person +not a leader type, prefers to work in a team whenever possible
Mannerisms/Attitude: +rarely raises his voice, even when he’s upset +speaks quietly but very distinctly +almost never laughs loudly
Other: +If you stab the e.ghost just right it will destroy the battery, and that will get rid of the e.ghost but the battery blows up dramatically, so it would hurt you, too. +E.ghost forms only possess the senses of hearing and sight, though he can use the data reader to make up for that if he has time to mess with it. [Clarification Edit Mar 22: Note that this means the e.ghost doesn't have a sense of touch. He'll notice if you push him over, obviously, but he only actually feels what happens to his physical body.] +When in e.ghost form, he normally only carries three things: a loose harness that’s easy to get on and off, his dart gun, and a small data reader. The data reader is like an iphone on steroids plus a lot of special tools specially for science researchers to use on the move. +No, he doesn’t wear clothes as an anthro e.ghost. Whenever he switched forms they would fall off, and anyway, he’s fluffy, so...deal with it.

YES ANOTHER OCT WHAT NOW
This one I’m actually planning to, you know, finish my audition. XD Hah I posted my ref within the fortnight, you RoA people can’t kill me. (Yet.) The ref text is long I know, I’m sorry! I hope it all makes sense. If not, bother me with questions. And guys. Don’t bother drawing his entire design unless you really want to. Just like..give him random blue stripes and a white face.
It could I suppose, but all that means is it would basically be a fast multi-language dictionary. It wouldn't help you have conversations in a foreign language any better than your average online translator. Why?
Leah, Syra, and Chigi are having a conversation in the garden, then they are met by an entrant who is interested in them, yet is not fluent in regular languauge, but speaks her own. To give a sneak preview from my prologue...
"...As Syra opened the pocket of her bandolier, another entrant arrived at the garden, speaking in a mysterious language.
“Oh?” said Syra, looking at the new arrival while slipping the turquoise object from his pocket over his right hand; some sort of high-tech gauntlet?"
It took me a month and I shame myself for this. But I've FULLY read the desc now! >8O
And I lab it <3 Looks like him and Chi would be perfectly capable of just sitting down to chat, if Syra can tollerate my girl's childish, impish, all-around inappropriate behavior C:
I'm glad someone bothered to read the whole thing at all lol. And I'm even more glad you like him. Syra probably would be fine talking to her, silliness notwithstanding, and I have to admit I find the idea of her flirting with him to be highly amusing.
Yah, tis wha blows about having long-arse text refs :c Tis hard for others to find it in them to read 'em! ;A; And I'm glad you're glad, cause he's interesting C:
And oh, well, if I make it in, I plan to play Dark's flirtiness for laughs as often as I can XD
You shall be getting two comments from me. One now, to point out that I like the Formspring idea (and shall make one for my own, if you don't mind), and one later, after I've actually had the time to read the desc :'D
Yay comments. Of course I don't mind, go ahead and make a formspring. It wasn't my idea originally, I think I'm just the first in RoA to post a link in the char's description lol.
Yay comments indeed P: And well, it's up now, and I figured you weren't the first one to make an OC formspring, but I just wanted to mke sure it wouldn't bother you :'D

As of right now though, I like his design ;3
And thank you. ^^
Aaan you're welcome
