Description

From a Laspian’s prayer to Lapisse.

Protect your world, your lands, and your children, great goddess, sky-mother whose eyes watch from heaven. Your home is the sky, the water is your gift; in both we see you. The sky watches down on us and its silver eyes show the world to you. See and know, silver eyes, sky and water, stars reflecting the stars...

Sooooo this is another PoL character whose design I adopted from Monkey. I know an anthro feline is not really what you would expect from me. I decided that I really have to learn to draw cats, so I have been forcing myself lately. But aside from that, I really like how this character came out. Her name is Hairih Dasisnu, the High Priestess of the goddess Lapisse. (hahYEERih dahSISnoo)

Going back to my only reference, ancient Egypt, ancient Laspians had a religion with several gods. Lapisse is the queen of the gods, the goddess of the sky, and she is one of the key deities of the religion. All the deities are worshipped in temples through various rituals and dedicated festivals; there is only one temple for each, and also one head priest or priestess, depending upon the deity. The Sky plays a key part in the culture and legend of Lapis, so the High Priestess of Lapisse is indeed a prestigious position. She’ll be important at some point in Pillars of Lapis, since the plot is based around politics.......I swear it’s more interesting than it sounds when I put it like that. D:

Dramatic lighting yay. And gold and cloth shading and of course stars. I'm starting to like backgrounds.

I am stupidly proud of my title skillz. :icontarddanceplz:

Kulapti, you've got wicked skills- wicked I say.
I don't even know how to describe it. It hurts my head.
:omg:
I LOVE the lighting, the shading- the everything. It all creates such a beautiful image, and the description- wow. I'm not even going to try to explain my awe.
